Pony Blues

(Michael Lee Ammons and The Water Street Hot Shots)
Here's a Missippippi blues standard. Charley Patton and Son House both had versions of this piece, and the Hot Shots' take is based on House's.

Dallas Rag

(Michael Lee Ammons and The Water Street Hot Shots)
Check out this classic mandolin rag, originally from the Dallas String Band. "Doc" Mock performs the Hot Shots version on his banjo-mandolin, with some nice work from Tim Dekker on the fiddle.

Doggone My Good Luck Soul

(Michael Lee Ammons and The Water Street Hot Shots)
Hattie Hudson sang the original, probably around 1930. Her version was a reworking of Blind Lemon Jefferson's "Bad Luck Blues."
The Water Street Hot Shots have always had this tune on the "favorites" list.

Special Rider Blues

(Michael Lee Ammons and Pat Kennedy)
A classic work by Skip James, originally recorded for Paramount Records at the Grafton, WI, studio in 1931.
Here, Michael Lee Ammons and Pat Kennedy (on harmonica) give their best.
